A song from album WOODS 5: GREY SKIES & ELECTRIC LIGHT

Lyrics:

There was a flash of lightning, Followed by snow

In a moment of silence (for myself), After a shock to the soul

With a look of disbelief, Alone and numb to the cold

I knew the last moment had passed, Before enduring years of sorrow

There was a crack of electric light, coming down from a darkened sky

My dreams flashed before my eyes, as they were erased from my life.

There was a flash of lightning, Followed by snow

'Twas just the moment of change, Before years of sorrow

The shock and awe, the fright and woe

I only had one life to live, and life said no.

The loss of love, has left me hollow

All bliss twists into pain, Where there was joy, years of grief have followed!

There was a flash of lightning, followed by snow

It struck my heart, only once...which made me want it more

The emptiness it left in me, will always need to be filled

For it will be there all the time, from now on, forever more.

There was a crack of electric light, coming down from a darkened sky

My dreams flashed before my eyes, AS they were erased from my life.

There was a flash of lightning, Followed by snow

'Twas just a moment of pain, Before years of sorrow

The shock and awe, the fright and woe

And when I asked for a second chance, life said no.

You should be banned from life, you obviously don't deserve it.

There was a flash of lighning... And it is gone forever... Thank you David for making me feel like I haven't felt in such a long time... Absolutely free, ready to fly as high as I can... Thank you! You will be remembered by the people you helped in tough times, in life followed by death, a flash followed by snow...

I <3 the Intro of this song, simply a masterpiece as is the rest of the album. It will be timeless, like the legacy of David Gold. R.I.P

ти еба путката майна педал скапан, ше чукам майка ти на гроба на мъртвия ти баща. Да умреш от абсцес в задника дано.

I found out that David Gold died a day after re-discovering Woods of Ypres. Needless to say, it pissed me off. RIP, Dave. And thank you.

YES - this music is a great response to anybody who claims that nothing good was made after the 70s. There WAS a flash of lightning, and it's right here. RIP David Gold.

The whole album is so emotionally powerful and the eeriness of his ill-fate ensuing after this album (that is if you pay attention to it lyrically) is beyond comprehension. Regardless, it is a masterpiece and is a must listen for the metal community. R.I.P. David Gold, you will be missed.

You could go to bandcamp.com and buy the home ep in 1062kps .flacs and in 320kps mp3. If you compare them, you will hear, that the compressed mp3 codec cuts information out, resulting in a less quality sound. And therefore it must have been recorded in higher quality, because otherwise it was the same.

Hmm, Ill have this record in my mail next week, so Ill hear it then. But the Home EP for example is definitely not in 320kps. Of course you can compress a large format (like .flac, .wav) into smaller ones like mp3. But dude, even Oldshool Black Metal bands like Darkthrone have always recorded in highest bitrates. I dont want to be disrespectful, but I really think youre confusing something.

I really dont think their songs are recorded at 320kps. Recording quality is usually somewhat around 1000kps.

Just discovered this band today and I'm disappointed that I hadn't discovered them earlier. Thank you \m/etal \m/onday for leading me to one of the most EPIC bands I have listened to since Bal-Sagoth. Of course R.I.P. David Gold, sad he died before I discovered this band.
