On this day in 1980 {March 16th} "Wondering Where the Lions Are" by Bruce Cockburn entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart at position #85; eleven weeks later on June 1st, 1980 it peaked at #21 {for 2 weeks} and spent 17 weeks on the Top 100...He had one other Top 100 record, ""If I Had a Rocket Launcher", it peaked at #88 in 1994...Between 1971 and 1997 in his native Canada he had twenty-one records the RPM Pop Singles chart, his biggest hit was "If a Tree Falls", it peaked at #8 in 1989...Mr. Cockburn will celebrate his 70th* birthday in two months on May 27th, 2015...* I hope he handles it better than me, I turned 70 this past January 15th...

Hmm?? The video doesn't fill the window, and the audio sounds...compressed. Did you do some kind of editing of the sound?

@ windrose777 - this is not an adaptation of "your favorite song" - Bruce wrote this song, it is his... any other version you may have heard (Jimmy Buffett or otherwise) is a mere copy of Cockburn's masterpiece - just sayin...

I had another dream about the lions at the door, they weren't half as frightening as they were before.....

I stand corrected, but if my memory serves me, both Belushi and Ackroyd made a few appearances on the show during the season in question. One thing not in doubt, the 1980-81 season was an epic disaster; the only good thing about it was the hiring of Eddie Murphy when he was young and still funny.

Yes. It sounds similar to James Coburn when last name is pronounced.

Actually both John Belushi and Dan Ackroyd left SNL in 1979 the season before the rest of the original 1975 remaining cast (Garrett Morris,Jane Curtain,Gilda Radner, and Lorraine Newman left the show at the end of the 1979-80 season. SNL had huge cast changes in the 1980-81 season.
