(just music)

I saw the colossal landscape

Of which I never was a part

It was a magical day

Of which Id never seen before

The first time I saw colossal girl

The first time I saw colossal girl

Such glowing mountains before us

Pillars of life all fade away

Of all the things I need to say girl

All of these woods are in my way

The first time I saw colossal girl

Well she's running to the hills again

Can you tell me if she'll ever return

She must be mother natures child

Cause she's runnin' to the call of the wild

She's talkin' to the trees again

Tellin' me that she's one of them

Lookin' at the bird in the tree

Though she's never gonna notice me

Oh is my love a confession

Will I just put it back today

If I had a love to give you

Would you still throw it all away

The first time I saw colossal girl

The first time I saw colossal girl

Well she's running to the hills again

Can you tell me if she'll ever return

She must be mother natures child

Cause she's runnin' to the call of the wild

She's talkin' to the trees again

Tellin' me that she's one of them

Lookin' at the bird in the tree

Though she's never gonna notice me

Can you remember the first time we met

Living together in colossal times

Some things are given with no reason why

Living together in colossal times

I'm just a gypsy with wondering eyes

I'll tell you secrets that send you to sleep

All I can give you is all of my love

These are the things I can give you to keep

I'm just a gypsy with wondering eyes

I'll tell you secrets that send you to sleep

All I can give you is all of my love

These are the things I can give you to keep

Still probably my favorite song by them.

Final song is laughable. They add lyrics my ten year old nephew could have produced. It's pathetic. Lara and co are clearly trying not to laugh. Anyway, my point is this is real music, where real musicians play real musical instruments...

Why do people moan about WM sounding like old classic bands? That's the idea, current music is lyrics handed to you by a songwriter and a producer and sound engineer providing your "music" hence why the charts are all about image and sex appeal. But that's where the money is unfortunately. What to do is watch the special features of Metallica's some kind of monster, there's a feature where they provide a backing track to some rap guys, a producer, and ja rule. What these "pros" produce as a

Guitar sounds like a blend of Tony Iommi(Black Sabbath) and Ted Nugent(Cat Scratch Fever). Lyrics remind me a bit of Pink Floyd and Vocals resemble Sabbath/Zeppelin. Drumming is fairly vicious as well. Definitely pretty freakin' awesome, could be creeping into a new place in my heart...right...now.

Don’t get me wrong; there are still some great bands around from this era, if you will; too bad so many peoply my age have closed their minds to that. Case and point; I saw Disturbed (Indestructible) in a small house a couple of years ago and I could see everyone in the audience. There were maybe four guys there my age; I don’t know why it surprised me but it did. I keep watching, Wolfmother is right at the top of my must see list. I’m gonna shut up now and go find my cane!

I’m 50 (old fart!); when I first heard Wolfmother I about fell out of my car on the freeway. There are a number of current bands that bring a lot of power in their music; but the artistry just isn’t there. The complexity of music that WM refreshingly brings in just one of their songs has more depth, more imagination, and more passion than an entire album side of so many of the band today.

@zapbranagan True, man. When I first heard these I instantly thought of classic rock (even though I dont listen to mu classic rock) but with a refreshing sound about it. Eyes were opened and bricks were shat when I heard this and Joker and The Thief.

Led Zeppelin had a child with Rolling Stones. that child then donated 98% of it's DNA to three Australians, who combined their own style with it to give rise to the Awesome creature known as Wolfmother.
