+stormycat9 yeah, you're right, in fact all those alternative bands cited Cheap Trick as an influence.

I can't understand why people think they are "trying" to sound grunge? Have you people heard their stuff from the 70's? Sure, they went a different direction for a while, but fuck, they may as well have invented grunge. I dunno, maybe I don't know what the hell I am talking about. All I know is that I have been listening to their 70's stuff since, well, the 70's and when the grunge bands got big in the 90's I thought that they all sounded a lot like early Cheap Trick.

I bought this when it came out in '94. It was great. I also bought many grunge albums too. Namely Pearl Jam's Vitalogy and Soundgarden's Superunknown...It was a good time for music...

Get over your overly effeminate busy body bitch trip musclefag, people here are not interested in your ignorance nor your finger pointing bullshit about your genre police bullshit. I like the mother fucking song so fuck off or forever be a mindless busy body. in other words, STFU! btw, Grunge is dead and gone, that was my point! Where you chimed in, was only an immature moron with too much time on her hands.

I wish it COULD take a break, but misinformed people such as yourself have it working overtime!

Acecool444

Good! you have an opinion, now please give it a break already.

That's cool, you have an album. This song, a single, is obviously an effort to tap into that genre and reintroduce Cheap Trick to the charts. And also, I hate to break it to you but nobody over the age of 12 will take any of your opinions seriously if you use the word "fail" in that way. Sorry. :(

Nope! Maybe to people like you it sounds like grunge, but to those less biased and educated, you fail. I have the complete album, so you're wrong. Thank God grunge is finally dead and as far as I'm concerned and it should stay that way.

You realize this is Cheap Trick's attempt at the 90's grunge/alternative genre, right? It sounds like Faith No More, if anything.

3 weeks later, and this is STILL! My favorite YouTube Video.....Cheap Trick in their PRIME! Not too young, but not too old! (their years of playing live and musical experience really shows in this vid) Awesome Stuff Here! Have it posted on my Facebook and even grabbed the video to my hard drive. Just wish it was in higher definition.

This "Live" version sounds better than the studio version. Look at the passion in Zander's face. You see this in almost every video e.g. "Best Friend" watch?v=9E434yEh_Ro I also love the vocal range with the ability to change his voice. Good evidence of this can be found on the album "SPECIAL ONE" Now compare that to all the hoopla you get with dancing acts like David Lee Roth (not that VH are bad). This is true rock and it's outlived most rock bands to this day! LONG LIVE CHEAP TRICK

Didn't they do this on Conan, too? That's the performance I remember.

At the time, this was as musically relevant as Nirvana. Really liked this track.

@iflyc77 It sounds that good because Letterman's band is playing with them. It probably would have sounded OK with just CT themselves, but with 2 extra guitars, an extra drummer, keys and horns it sounds huge.

Sadly they are playing to the record' don't know why I guess because since it was the new single they wanted it to sound perfect.
