They are one of my favorite bands to never have seen in concert in the USA. HArmonies, double leads nearly every song, several solos in all their songs. I love the Allman Brothers, and they don't come close to Wishbone Ash in this regard.

true...the answer is because Tony is playing a Rickenbacker 4000. it only had a treble (bridge pickup) also, that just seems to be Tony's tone in general, when he plays bass, he turns the treble really high in the mix. I'm guessing he's a big Chris Squier fan.

Have to demur from the comments above- although the lead vocal is drenched in echo it's very flat and ponderous. The bass is pretty good though- nice and high- and given that it's only 1 original member with 3 drafted in recruits they make a decent fist of it.
