Marideth Sisco singing "High on a Mountain," from the Winter's Bone Soundtrack.

I tried to find this song everywhere on the internet (for free), but to no avail, so I thought I'd fill the hole.

Check out the original Ola Belle Reed version of this song. While Maridith is good Ola's is much more powerfully haunting.

I suppose I should start listening to bluegrass because this is one of the best songs I've ever heard.

Un grand merci d'une française. I keep on and keep on again listening to this song and marvellous voice discovered in this great movie.

Wonderfully put. Marideth Sisco, I like to think, sings folk-country or bluegrass-country; not the kind of country you find on radio stations. In my opinion, the "pop country" stuff is just soulless pop music for a "western" audience.

Thank you for posting this song, I was just watching the movie and went looking for the singer. But I'm subscribing to your channel simply because of your so very tactful answer to a slightly rude comment. :-)

I use to not be a fan of country music, then I heard Marideith Sisco sing and it completely changed the mood of the song. It makes it sound more lively and true.

Yes, this is the song from that part. The actual lyrics are "I wonder if you ever think of me" but in the movie she says "I wonder if you still remember me" instead, I'm not totally sure why they changed it.
