"Windham Hell was an avant-garde metal band from the United States.

Windham Hell was an underground band in practically every sense of the word, a band who did things on its own terms with no regard to mass appeal. There's was one of those have-to-hear-it-for-yourself styles, blending classically influenced guitars, extensive ambient/atmospheric effects, intense riffing, and sparse death vocals (really, the band was mostly instrumental), an original and intriguing style that lent itself to much experimentalism." - from Last.fm

Came across this album purely by chance in a record shop in Camden, London, and I'm glad I decided to get it! Amazing stuff, although it's saddening that the first thing I find out when researching them is one of them passed away.

Es increíble que a pesar de ser un álbum con casi 20 años suena tan vanguardista a comparación de bandas de ésta época.

Amazing band with an amazing guitarist! Eric Friesen was not only a great guitarist, but he seemed like a great person as well. I was lucky enough to get to talk to him a few times before he passed away. He even sent me a copy of his "Friesenberg Concertos" solo album!
