Have to agree with 'mward68'. Old Gladys owns this song. Bette's version, though admirable, just doesn't measure up.

To Oliver Hunter... Sorry I hadn't seen this YouTube page before now. Thank you for your kind words about the track, but there is no instrumental version of the Gladys Knight cut. This record was produced by the legendary Bob Montgomery and recorded at the SoundShop Studio "B" in Nashville. I wrote the arrangement and played piano and keyboards. This was the first recording by a major artist and I am very proud of it. I am pleased you enjoyed it so much.

Just so it is clear. This came before Bette Midler's version and I believe it's much better than hers. I gotta say I love Bette's version too but Gladys destroys as always.
