Love the little pause every other measure in the verse where the background singers sing "Whoooo".  Reminds me of Dr. John's "Right Place Wrong Time". Wonder if Dr. John got it from this track?

My jam from Junior High! I would listen to Part 1 and 2 and 2 was bad! Wilson Picket was the most under-rated black performer. He could sing his ASS off and he had so much soul and funk! I loved all of his stuff! I miss him so much. Thanks for the wonderful memories Wilson and being a part of my teenage years back in the 70's.

A great song by Wilson Pickett! This single-edit version was a featured track on "American Top 40 - The '70s" (from May 29th, 1971), & was the #22 song. R.I.P., Wilson Pickett.
