I am very critical on music covers and about 1%, in my opinion, are ever done right. And only a slight fraction of that 1% are more enjoyable than the original. Music is an art form and is interpreted differently by all. I must say I enjoy this one better than the Rolling Stone's version. There is so much more emotion in it. Thanks for posting it.

Summer of 71, I was to meet my girlfriend Donna and one of her friends at a swim club , The Orchards, north of Baltimore. Donna couldn't make it, but her friend was there. A beautiful, tan blonde in a white bikini. I spent that summer day, laughing with her, and thinking how beautiful and how much fun she was. The Stones Wild Horses was playing on the juke box, as the summer breeze gently blew her golden hair across my face...I never saw her again, and I don't remember her name, yet whenever I hear this song, I am again 16, summer is forever, and I'm laughing with a beautiful girl.

Really nice arrangement but the recording also clearly displays the evils of the those blasted 80s digital reverb boxes. You can barely hear the lyric on the low key verses and for just three instruments (voice, acoustic and electric) the definition is hopeless; all of the sound-scape feels stuffed to bursting. Still... lovely arrangement.
