Wilco performing "Sky blue sky".

From their self-titled album's bonus DVD "Shake it off".

LYRICS:

Oh, the band marched on in formation

The brass was phasing tunes I couldn't place

Windows open and raining in

Maroon, yellow, blue, gold and gray

The drunks were ricocheting

The old buildings downtown

Empty so long ago

Windows broken and dreaming

So happy to leave what was my home

With a sky blue sky

This rotten time

Wouldn't seem so bad to me now

Oh, I didn't die

I should be satisfied

I survived

That's good enough for now

With a sky blue sky

This rotten time

Wouldn't seem so bad to me now

Oh, if I didn't die

I should be satisfied

I survived

That's good enough for now

Wilco are so great, i like how if i'm feeling a bit mopey i can listen to them but they always have a postivity, or strength to even their saddest songs. also, lovely tune full stop .

So you're going to tell me that the solos in "At least that's what you said" aren't fucking awesome?

I can't believe some critics panned this album cuz it didn't rock like 'Ghost is Born'. If nothing else just LISTEN TO THE LYRICS MAN! MY GOD. Such beautiful poetry. Jeff really poured his heart and soul into this album and you're a fool if you can't see that and I feel bad for you if you can't appreciate it. This album is every bit as good as 'ghost is born' if not better.

Wilco are so great that it's a tad overwhelming, way too intense at times, especially during gigs. I think they sort of spoiled other bands for me

What a great band! I have the CD but it's thrashed ,corrupted, non-playable so.. I am here rediscovering their sound all over again.I will never find the words explaining how much I love the singer's vocal delivery / sense of melody
