Wilburn Brothers - Heart Over Mind

Curly Chalker - Pedal Steel Guitar

Jimmy Capps - Lead Electric Guitar

Lester Wilburn - Rhythm Guitar

Leslie Wilburn - Electric Bass

Can anyone name the drummer?

The woman who joins the Brothers in the last verse is a young Barbara Mandrell.

Teddy Wilburn, singing lead and playing acoustic guitar and Doyle Wilburn singing harmony. The song, "Heart Over Mind" was written by Mel Tillis.

At the beginning of the clip Teddy can be heard saying "Thank you Ace" ...this is in reference to the previous scene/song on the show was a performance by saxophonist Ace Cannon.

This clip is from the "Wilburn Brothers Show", the year is approximately 1972.

The Wilburn Brothers TV Show was Popular in the 60. My Cousin Produced and Directed the Show. And My cousin directed the Ernest Tub TV show and several other syndicated TV shows, at TV Station WSIX, in Nashville. Robert told me he worked 16 hours a day doing the syndicated Country Music TV Shows, in the 60s. He often did not go home, and he would direct the Morning News. Robert said he was trying to make it to the Top, Salary Wise, and he knew that he had to show the TV Station Owners he was willing to work hard for them. Robert Almost Killed himself working hard, 16 hours a day. He thought he had a job for life. But in the 80s, the TV Station Ownership sold the Station, and the 10 highest paid employees, were fired. Robert was in the Top 10, so he was fired. Robert was out of work for a long time. He played the Stock Market with his retirement Money, and in the end, he lost most of his Retirement money. Robert Finally found work, for the Big University in Nashville, at pay loss of 66 percent, but he made it.

I hafta agree with you. I always felt Curly was an "over player" and wanted his instrument to completely dominate every song he played on. It kinda gets old after awhile, that being said, his playing is still superb, but it always seemed he was too out front too often.

Great song. In fact, I am free to follow my heart but, of course, I realized that I was in an unreal world. However, if I were asked: Can we be friends? My answer would be "yes". Friendship is wonderful because people can be friends in the distance, even if they belong to different worlds, in spite of disagreements or silence if there's nothing interesting to say. For me is more than enough to know that someone doesn't want to lose being my friend. And that's all.
