bandwagon 22. Did you fight in WWII? Or korea, Nam, Desert shield, Iraq freedom? If you did though I doubt it. Then thanks for your service. Either way. Who are you to say how anyone would react to combat?

It's much easier to be patriot in Hollywood and some sleeping small town of US heartland than in vicious battle in eastern front during WW2. In real combat Mr. Wayne would have been weeping coward. Upper middle class - safe and bragging. Working poor - send to dangerous mission with perhaps no return.

Love it. I miss him, and salute to him and our warriors. He tried to join the Navy in WW2, even went to see the secretary of the Navy, but they considered him to useful in movies I think, and they kept denying him. So he did what he could, and did it well.
