Who's Driving Your Plane?

(Jagger/Richards)

It was your father who trained you and your mother who brained you

To be so useless and shy

But I just replaced them and tried not to break them

Because you could stand up if you tried

And I wanna see your face when your knees and your legs

Are just gonna break down and die

And, who's driving your plane?

Who's driving your plane?

Who's driving your plane?

Who's driving your plane?

Are you in control or is it driving you insane?

If I could wave a magic wand, then maybe you'd change

Back to bein' a blonde

And your skirt would come down, it would cover your feet!

If I said, "It's not camp to wear Tiffany lamps"

You'd be thrown right out in the street

And I wonder who's driving your plane?

Who's driving your plane?

Who's driving your plane?

Who's driving your plane?

Are you in control or is it driving you insane?

You could stand on your head or maybe sing in bed

If I said it was the thing to do

If you're in with the faces and their getaway places

'Cause they don't take no notice of you

Well, the trendy pace-setters will just called you a pain

'Cause I want to know, who's driving your plane

This is way too good for the sixties, it's something timeless. That's why Stones are the greatest band ever.

Who's flying your car....1966 ultimate sleaze. Flipped on "Have You Seen Your Mother" ,this was the Stones' last thunderous Hollywood RCA stuff ,before they decamped to London for 3 years and totally revel in their royalty status there.

Freakbeat Meet The Blues! Truly demented stuff! Even if it is a dead-ringer for Dylan's 'Leopard Skin Pill Box Hat'!

For me this track which would be one of the final times you would hear the original Stones in their true boogie raunchy barrelhouse blues swing style is driven by Stu and Charlie they are nailing it down. They attempted this somewhat in 1994 with the track Mean Disposition but it fell well short. I'd love to see and hear these Grand Ol Bluesman do gigs with this stripped down sound yet I'm afraid that's not possible without Stu or even Nickey.

Ian Stewart (the Sixth Stone) is likely to be the piano player on this 'cos it sounds like his style. Of course Jack Nitche was around at that time as well as others. You'll have to ask the Stones for details!!! Thanks for posting.

this has a raunchy stank that can only be found in a true barrelhouse

Your right,I read somewhere that those guys, especially Nitsche played on various Stones recordings throughout the 60s,though uncredited.Like a keyboard here,a bass part there and drums here and there.etc...

Juwelen die sich mal so aus dem Ärmel schüttelten und die dann als b-seiten oder LP-füller benutzt wurden.

We had a band called "Joker" 69 -72 we were always picking somewhat obscure stuff ,,,, This was one of me favorites, Loved it then and still do., BV
