Sounds JUST like the record! #amazing That bridge they did in 3 part harmony was CRAZY good! Very few artists can sing like this now.... :(

I love all of them, but Whitney stole the show. She made it look so easy, no effort on her part to belt out such a strong and beautiful soprano performance. She was remarkable, voice so clear and wonderful, never looked like she was trying too hard.

Whitney sang high ENOUGH! Anything higher (whistle notes, etc.) is annoying in my opinion.

Good Lord - TALENT! Love the Winans' and the beautiful, inimitable Whitney Houston. Prayers for her dear daughter, Bobbi Kris Brown. 'Hold Up the Light' for your mother, BK.

For the record, this performance is the 1989 NAACP Image Awards...not the '89 Soul Train Awards (she didn't perform at that event).

This clip is from the 1989 NAACP Image Awards. It IS NOT from the 1989 Soul Train Music Awards.

This is NOT from the 1989 Soul Train Music Awards. Can somebody please tell me what show this clip is from to stop the massive confusion about this performance, and where it came from? THANKS!

Whitney hits 10 E5s, 7 Eb5s, and a F#5 in 20 seconds, and makes it look easy. She was simply amazing!

YES LaCHELEWALLACE Whitney could sing in her top register and still BELT out without sounding strained and or forced it is truly spectacular, superb singing. Could you imagine if she had studied classically she would have been able to sustain her register a lot longer as she got older. She smoked cigarettes and that can take a tole on the vocal chords. Here's a tip Listen to Donna Summers Song she works hard for the Money. Another superb singer gone to soon. Similar qualities when it came to sheer control in HIGH TONES.
