It's nothing to do with fatigue, it's quite common for the tempo to be "upped" in live shows. It's just cos they want to build the energy, excitement and atmosphere. In this case the original feeling and mood of the song is sacrificed in favour of energy. I quite like to here songs done a bit differently live, makes it more interesting.
