Yes; it does beat most of the garbage out there. Also, Doug Aldrich and Reb Beach are a hell of a guitar tandem. I just wish Coverdale would give the 'love-themed' song writing cliche' a break; it's gotten very old. When every song on an album has 'love' in it's title or theme, it's just way to corny.13 years ago

@JktSd0r You 're right .. The original sound was more Purple, but the matter is that we would hear another version of D.P ... but Coverdale, with his incredible voice and new Heaviest sound gave what they and we need..... and we need WHITESNAKE.....!!!!!!!!!!!!13 years ago

'The way he used to sing' before the overblown, ' hair metal howling' of post 1987's 'Whitesnake.' Infact, everything sounds better; the guitars have good tone, just better sounding music, yet still powerfull (in the vein of 'Slide It In' and previous albums). Before the 'love-metal version' of Whitesnake, they had a very 'Purple-ish' sound to their music; a sound which I found was much classier than most recent iterations of this band.13 years ago
