I never this was already a very old song when it was recorded. I have a live electric version from '75, a solo live acoustic version and this one in my Neil playlist. Thanks for uploading!

There are few song writers with such a thick catalogue of well crafted songs like Neil Young. I can think of Bob Dylan, Paul Simon and Paul McCartney. Any other suggestions?

It's a truck driving song. With Neil driving the truck.

To me, this song is about a journey I took, when "God" or "Someone" was driving the train. I saw some things that I never would have guessed. I have the memories, there is nothing I can do with them, feel like a railroad, I pull the whole load, behind. I don't know what Neil is talking about, but for me, it's like he wrote the words from my own soul.I don't even know who the hell "God" is, but "Someone" got my attention. :) I hope Neil's experience was just as good as mine was. And I hope yours is, too.

For me, this song is about a journey I took, with "God" at the helm. Showed me things I never would have guessed. I let Him slide sometimes. But the good things, wow. I was adrift on a river of pride... I went to Him, when it all became too much, He took my love and put it to the test... Feel like a railroad, I pull the whole load behind, and keep on moving.

Well, I guess everyone has their own interpretations of what songs could be about, and for this one I'll share mine with you. I think this song is about the long road of life. Having love, working hard, having good and bad times. I just think it's about life and general and all we go through from day to day, good or bad. Hope I helped you out a little :)

Great track, put a lot of miles on these legs of mine.... This song always comes to mind when I think about walking along the highway with wet boots, cold, hungry and miserable. Wishing someone would just pick me up and buy me some food. "That old white line is a friend of mine"..... Powerful words. That old white line will always be a friend of mine, nomatter how cruel she was to me over the years. Traveller for life. Thanks for uploading, brings back memories. Cheers from Canada
