Now I may be wrong cause I know a lot of people say this song is about war and I can see why but it's just from a personal point of view but I think this song could be about a gunman and maybe a suicide as well. Ill make soldiers decision to fly away meaning he's decided to die that day, paint my face load my gun call me misery meaning he's getting ready for the slaughter. It's the saddest thing when angels fly away could possibly mean that it's sad to him when they finally die. I got my sights locked in I could see you breathe then I watched you fall and somebody scream could mean that he's finally begun the shooting. Got a badge for ym scars just the other day wore it proud for the sake of my sanity means he could've finally been convicted and he see's it as some sort of reward and he wears it proud because deep inside he's broken completely. Like a haunting page from our history watched a young girl cry and her mother scream may mean that the families of the ones he killed showed up at the trial I don't know I'm probably digging way too deep into this than I should. But that's just how I saw it.

I respect the men in the military but I feel like ignorance has gotten the best of this country our government feeds us the whole "Fighting for freedom" bullshit as a way to keep our support it is a shame they even have people in the military believing that. They use our military as pawns in their sick war games so Wall street banks and international banking dynasties profit off of financing the war. Obama is just a puppet. They have to have someone to take the blame and that is the presidents primary job he does not run shit. War has destroyed many great cultures and countries. good people have died in all wars past. Such a shame humanity never learns. We keep telling ourselves the same lies because it makes us comfortable with our wrong doings. Americans will say its beautiful outside when its raining and cold if it makes us feel better, See things for what they are people.
