"What About You" written by Johnnie Wright and Jack Anglin. Recorded by Dennis Locorriere with Waylon jennings providing harmony vocals on the 1976 Dr Hook album " A Little Bit More" which was incidentally co-produced by Waylon and Ron Haffkine.....lyrics...

The days have been long and I have been lonesome

Recalling the dreams, that never came true

The nights have been lonely, but now that's all over

Cause I've payed my debt, for trusting in you

Every day, your mem'ry grows dimmer

Clouds drift away, sunshine peeps through

Every night, no longer you'll haunt me

My conscience is clear, oh, what about you

It's hard to believe, that you are the same one

That once meant so much, and I loved so true

It's hard to know, I've worshipped the wrong one

But I've paid for it, oh, what about you

Every day, your mem'ry grows dimmer

Clouds drift away, sunshine peeps through

Every night, no longer you'll haunt me

My conscience is clear, now, what about you

Every day, your mem'ry grows dimmer

Clouds drift away, sunshine peeps through

Every night, no longer you'll haunt me...

@gttdkt I know your comment is an old one but I have to disagree to pretty much everything you said. "For ONE THING" I find Locorriere easy to pronounce; for another in my opinion Locorriere is a sort of romantic sounding name (could be to do with the fact that it's Italian). Also the name 'Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show' was a perfect fit to the band, the music, and the stage antics; it mostly came from Ray's eye patch in reference to captain hook, the inspiration of old west medicine shows, and also a bit of a drug reference too. Think about it, in the early days when they still had '& the Medicine Show' attached to 'Dr. Hook' they were pretty much stoned or drunk out of their minds when attempting to play music; live or on the radio, even as guests to T.V appearances (Shel's Houseboat). Watch any of fruronja's videos from 'Musikladen', 'Copenhagen in 1974' and 'Shel Silverstein's Houseboat 1972' and you will know what I mean (especially when they're getting ready for Carry Me, Carrie; Dennis is already smoking something and when Jay slaps himself in the face the whole houseboat erupts into uncontrollable laughter. Also, when Shel is introducing the band to the T.V crew guess what they're passing around?).

I very seldom comment on others video comments...but in this case I need to. For those of you that feel a need to put down the artists that you are listening to...DON"T LISTEN!! Both Waylon and Dennis are very good artists. They were also fans of each others music. Yes, Waylon was famous first, but he enjoyed working with artists that performed in other genres of music. After all, Waylon started out doing rock-n-roll in the 50's. As for Dennis needing to change his name, why the hell should he? People on this continent can also pronounce Locorriere, but I bet they can't pronounce gttdkt.

Waylon doesn't need any help. This is awful. But maybe this is where it all began and a light went off in Waylons' head.I need no help..Thank God.

@mrjasondylan Concerning the comparison between Mr. Jennings and Mr. Locorriere. For ONE THING, people on this continent can PRONOUCE Jennings. There's a lot to be said about NAMES. Dennis should have used a professional name. Dennis Liquer would have been nice. While on my soap box, the name of the band was just as awful. Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show. The name didn't match the band. What's in a name? Plenty.

@thehoff1982 I would never dismiss one's personal opinion of an artist, that's the wonderful thing about music, that it speaks to us individually but I'm afraid I have to disagree with you. I think Dennis was honored to have Waylon contribute and not the other way around. and I would say that even if I wasn't biased....which I am...lol
