I'm a big believer in karma; what goes around comes around; you reap what you sow; treat others the way you want to be treated, etc. So be compassionate and you will be rewarded. I can't explain how or why it happens, it just does. Furthermore, I don't miss it. It actually disgusts me to see or smell it, so it's pretty easy to not eat it.
