The sad difference between music 20 years ago and music now is that 20 years ago people paid for music....sure there were a million posers then as there are a million now....but back then people saw value in music....today its expected to be free so those who make a career in music are doing it by allowing others to use their music to sell things or promote things that have nothing to do with why someone wold pick up an instrument or self expression...or if so then thats just to scary to think about. That being said theres always an underground going on thats full of five dollar shows with bands that just play for the sake of having fun and entertaining their friends and maybe making some new ones. If you only think music was great twenty years ago then you really are looking at an edited version of that time cus there always has been more shit then good.

I was 16 and living in NJ in 1994. I made fun of my brother when he got the Blue Album bc I thought Buddy Holly sucked. It quickly became my favorite album ever. RIP little brother.
