59 years on the earth, grew up with Dylan this band is more than a tribute to a great song. You can have your Coldplay and all the other bands the record company's and radio stations shove down your throat. The real artist are unknown to the masses and appreciated by the few. Here is a band who does it because they love the music, I missed Pela and was shocked to see them on Letterman. Took my 13 year old daughter to see them in Houston and knew then they perform for us and the music is there life and not a job.

Look how the song affects the musicians in the performance. They know they are blessed ....Beautiful versión by the way.And another thing, who on earth imagines that it is a song written about his mother?

This song this version is not about his mother. Its about an ex lover that he is thinking about, doesn't want back, but simply wants her to know that he's thinking about her. "I don't mind who you'll be waking next (to) tomorrow" "I'm not asking You to say words like yes or no, please understand me; I have no place I'm calling you to go" It's about an ex....

How I wish I could still call my Mom! Miss you so much Mom!

That is sad, and sometimes true. If she misses her mom and wants to know if she thinks about her (which she said is the case), then she needs to call and find out. If her mom dies, she'll always be wondering and regretful that she didn't try to communicate. There is only one way to fins out: call her mom. Then she'll know and she'll deal with it. You are correct: it is good advice.

While calling her might be good advice, mother's don't always love their children. Parent's don't always have our best interests at heart. It's sad, but it's true

I think this version is better then John Lennon and bob Dylan

I don't believe he is reading the word to this song to sing the song.....I think he is reading the words as if it is a note that he sent his mom....he is making this personal.

Maybe he shoud've "shared" before he sang - plenty of artists wear their life experience on the sleeve so what, asshat!

I've listened to the Chimes of Freedom CDs so many times, the best covers are supplanting the originals in my head as the definitive version. This is one of them.
