Anyone making a negative comment about this is missing the point entirely.

i know the comments are a year old but almost everything discussed here took place at the airport just before the plane took off from clearlake...buddy told waylon hope you freeze your butt off and waylon said what he said to buddy and the coin toss was between allsup and richie...the plane crashed just a few minutes after take off

Waylon as usual kicks ass. Anyone that says he can't sing Buddy Holly songs is just downright ignorant.

Waymore was an absolute train wreck at this time. He looks and sounds horrible (for Waylon)

My very first concert, I was sixteen years old, with a seat way in the back and decked out in my own version of a Buddy Holly suit and horn rimmed sunglasses with the lenses taken out. I had on my Dad's old Texas Tech tie cuz everything else was too wide back then, lol! I stood up when they asked all the Buddy Holly Memorial Society members to stand, but I was THE only one in the back ,lol. Seems like most whom were present were down front and center. Tons of memories of early Holly fandom.

Terrible..This guy shows exactly why ONLY buddy can sing his songs. If felt like Waylon was just reading the songs and put no soul into it. Holly's music died with him on that plane.

Buddy would have given Elvis a run for his money and the Beatles wouldn't be anything today had we not lost Buddy. Why Why Why did he have to die??? Miss you Buddy!!!

I saw him on this tour, too. Huntsville, Alabama. The Crickets played a short set without Waylon, too. Anybody know whether Sonny Curtis was in that lineup?

No Buddy Holly, doubtful British Invasion... And for the people that brought it up, Waylon probably "sounds a bit like Buddy" on this stuff cause he originally played it WITH BUDDY... For Waylon these weren't him covering someone else...

I have to respectfully disagree with you on Buddy Holly. You really need to educate yourself on Buddy Holly. He was practically a genius. There is no doubt in my mind if Buddy Holly wouldn't have died, he would still be creating music in any genre he wanted. He wrote his own songs when no one else did. One of the first rock n rollers to do so. Buddy made some home recordings before he died and some of the material was YEARS ahead of it's time!

God smiled on Waylon that day for sure! Imagine, giving up his seat on that plan for what, in that day were much bigger stars than himself. His sacrifice then.... turned out to be a God send for Country Music. I personally don't think Buddy Holly (as much as I like his music) or the Big Boper, would have had the staying power or garnished the respect as Waylon Jennings did all these year later! Just my opion.
