Named after their hometown, Wayland is a four-piece rock and roll band from Michigan. Formed in 2007, they have used the name Wayland since 2010.

Thinking it was the right thing to do, the band pooled their money, packed up the van and moved to Los Angeles. While living in LA, playing any gig they could book, they met Jude Cole who said this band belongs in the Midwest. Cole challenged them to get back to their roots in the heart of Middle America where people love their rock and roll. The band agreed and packed up again, moving back to their namesake hometown, Wayland, Michigan.

The band made friends with the nationally syndicated morning show Free Beer And Hot Wings by bringing them breakfast in exchange for airplay. Just one spin of "Welcome To My Head" listeners fell in love with the song. The Program Director at WGRD, JT agreed the song was a hit and added it to the rotation. JT offers, "The talent this band possesses is unreal. Wayland has the number 1 most requested song on our airwaves with sold out shows all over Michigan to back it up!"

Enjoying local success, Wayland wasted no time by hitting the road in a donated RV from a local camper supply house and hasn't looked back.

The band is managed by Jesse James Dupree (Jackyl, Full Throttle Saloon). Wayland released a 4 song EP in December 2011, which includes their first single "Welcome to My Head," and their second single "Nobody's Perfect".
