You probably were meaning this, but Blackie Lawless has said repeatedly (after the whole 80's edgy hair movement they started in) that W.A.S.P. wasn't an acronym for anything, just that it looked bolder with periods and capital letters. People assumed it meant stuff like "We Are Sexual Perverts" and they embraced that misconception for it's shock value back in the day, but now frontman Blackie has made it clear there was no meaning to it.

@socksack I watched an interview with Blackie. They asked him what W.A.S.P. means and he pretty much said it's just a name, doesn't mean anything. But at a concert, before singing the next song he gave a little speech that was an "up-yours" to a group of women who were opposed to shock-rock and metal. "...They think that We Are Sexual Perverts! Well this is for that whole bunch, because they can suck me, suck me, eat me raw!! This is...Harder Faster!!" Amazing song too :D
