"I Mean Dad, I Mean Police, I Can't Even Remember Who I Am!"

This crazy tune (feat. vocals by Sweet "Pea" Atkinson) was originally released as b-side of "Wheel Me Out", but only as a shorter version.

This one right here is the long version. It's available on the W.N.W.-compilation "Woodwork Squaks", that was released in 1984.

OMG what a great band they were! and i note about american bands: it is so rare to find both black and white americans in the same band. remarkable. yes, i fully realise that is not the same behind the scenes, but none the less, british bands have never had that separation. Was Not Was, was a notable exception and show how well it actually works. Sweet Pea's voice is just utterly wonderful, but the lyrics are totally weird in a very white way, if you get what i mean. the end result is just wonderful."hello operator, i mean dad, i mean police. i cant even remember who i am" where do lyrics like that even come from!?i first heard their material in a "new wave nightclub" in sydney, australia, in 1980. the track was "wheel me out", another utterly weird track. i am so pleased to be able to say now, 34 years later, that i heard it when it came out, and loved it!
