Neuroelite says it all. This version is brilliant. Heavy metal is not my thing and I had never heard of Warrel, but I was mesmerized with this piece of artwork.

this version it's simply outstanding, he changed the whole melody making it better than the original one, but still conserving a melody type wich is very Simon's style like

what does he sing about then? Nevermore is usually about wrongs in the world or something like that..

Can't help it, but I think the guitar sometimes overpowers Warrel's voice too much on this song. Particularly around :28

@neuroelite - Agreed, he shows a whole different side to the song that one might have missed with the whimsical quality of Simon's voice. While Paul Simon is fantastic, he doesn't exactly exude dark and torturous introspection, Warrel does that in spades with the slightest effort, it seems.

I think Warrel did a fantastic job, especially in introducing Paul Simon's lyrical content to a generation which would likely have not noticed its brilliance otherwise. I had never realized just how dark the material was until Warrel gave me pause to examine it. I also think his interpretation of it is nothing short of musical genius.

He did good, but I still like the original version better. It kind of loses the original feeling here.
