I think it's funny how people insist on slamming "grunge". Grunge to me never existed. Nirvana was punk rock with a little new wave influence, and Pearl Jam and Soundgarden to me are alt. rock. Alice in Chains is metal. Grunge was a hype because it was marketed as something brand new, but really wasn't. Then you had those "grunge" bands that labels found to be the next Nirvana.. The labels kill it all, just like with hair bands. You got a lot of bands that inbred the hair metal gene pool because they were just copies. Such a shame.. I just feel it's unfair to judge a genre solely for the reason that it got more popular than what you like..
