What I love about this video is that it's a live performance. Most acts would lip synch to the recording. The fact that War is doing it live makes it even more enjoyable. One of my favorite songs from a great band.

I'm a 19-year-old from San Pedro CA (where Howard scott is from), and i go to school in Long Beach (where war formed), and let me tell you, its amazing that this music came from all around where i live. War is one of my favorite bands (if not my favorite) and their roots are so close to my feet. Its humbling and quite frankly an honor.

If you follow the LOWRIDER BAND you could meet the rest of the surviving original WAR artists, Howard Scott/guitar, Harold Brown/drums, BB Dickerson/bass, Lee Oskar/harmonica. Bet you thought they were dead because Lonnie's version of WAR makes it seem that way. He is so WARong for selling out his WAR brothers.

Check out the guy on bass. That is the awesome BB Dickerson. Today is his 64th birthday. He still performs this song and all WAR songs with three other WAR legends in this video, Howard Scott/guitar, Harold Brown/drums, Lee Oskar/harmonica, but they are forced to call themselves the LOWRIDER BAND because their producer took the WAR name from them. Don't forget them WAR fans, just because they can't use the WAR name THEY made famous.

I was 16 when this was a hit and Soul Train was the show to watch on Saturday mornings. Its how this white boy learned to dance! Loved Don, loved War. And how this song reminds me of summer down at the park shooting hoops in pick up games. Yo can;t beat this music today. They'll be listening to this music for the next 100 years. Ain't that something? Music today will be long gone but there'll be kids shooting hoops down at the park listening to War from 1972! Now that is something. Thanks guy.
