Called Wade shortly before he died and told him how much I like his fiddle work on Ray Price's "Western Strings" album. Along with Tommy Jackson and Keith Coleman, the recorded the "Bench Mark" in my books! always request this tune at dances down here in Texas.

This make you wish those sta. had save those recording, if they only knew the internet back then maybe they would have. Wade was also Western Swing as he was Country, might be another reason for the way he sang it. thanks for the listen and the requests plus don't worry about getting old. hearing still there. it just mono and hi fi and stereo and now cd has change

I remember a different version of this when he was on the radio with it back in the 50's. This one is ok, but I recall a better version. Maybe Im just getting old.

This song is just like Ronnie Milsap's Cowboys And Clowns and Conway Twitty's The Clown. I don't know why, but almost all the songs about clowns are sad songs. And they always make me cry! Thanks for sharing!
