That's what I was trying to say though I'm not sure I phrased it properly xD Those people pretty much only listen to the songs and artists because everyone else is, whereas vocaloid you listen to them because you love them and the music <3 but I think it can be annoying when anything is raved about for a long time, it gets kind of overrated... if that term is appropriate o.o

You could indeed say that, but I find people who do, along with those who disown a song/artist because it gets popular worthy of contempt. It shows they're not in it for the love of music, but because the music acts as a status symbol. As to that kind of attitude with Vocaloid, it doesn't apply so much as most of the western fandom muddle along by chancing upon old stuff rather than following what's new. Though I know plenty of people that get annoyed when songs stay in the rankings "too long".

true, true, but I mean songs that are coming out like right now xD or maybe this sort of thing only happens to me.... either way, you could still argue that those songs are old and outdated but nobody does that with vocaloid (not saying you should do that with those artists you mentioned, but people can) as far as I know people don't do that with vocaloid songs

Uh... people listen to old music. The obvious example is the Beatles, who released their debut album 50 years ago from March this year and are still selling merch like hotcakes. You also have things like your jazz musicians, your classic Brit pop, your swing, your rock n roll etc. I personally love the old Hollywood musical films, gotta love a bit of Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelly. And of course, classical music. Mozart still has his fans y'know.
