@daftrhetoric The more you can technically manipulate your instrument, the more possibility for artistry and beauty to shine through. Take Jimi for example, he's one of the most emotionally charged guitarists in history. Do you think that if he weren't as technically proficient, he'd be able to get across the same emotions with the same level of intensity? It's a combo of proficiency and artistic ability that allows one to make music that moves people. Just sayin'.
