This 1960 Fender Stratocaster is finished in Sunburst and is all original. It features all of its original components and they have not been altered in any way. The alder body has had no finish work to it. The maple neck features a Brazilian rosewood slab fretboard, clay dot inlays, original nut, headstock logo and Kluson Deluxe single line tuners.

The original "black back" single coil pickups sound terrific and are wired to the original 3 way switch. The solder joints in this guitar are even 100% original, in excellent condition and have never been touched. The 3 way switch is just "sticky" enough to allow you to leave the selector in the "2" and "4" positions to achieve full on quack tone. This guitar also features its original "chicklet / phone book" capacitor. The bridge and accompanying screws are original as is the trem arm and ash tray bridge cover. Speaking of ash trays, there's a classic, albeit small, cigarette burn on the headstock by the low E string tuner.

All of the pots in this guitar date to the 48th week of 1959. There is no neck date which is expected as Leo Fender had his employees removed the pencil dates for a number of months during the late '59 - '60 era. The body dates to 3/60 under the tremolo springs.

The pickguard is also original. You can see that the treble horn tip is slightly broken off and there is a small crack by the neck pickups' bass side screw. All hardware is original.

This 1960 Fender Stratocaster comes with a newer tweed hard shell case that is sturdy and will keep this beautiful guitar safe for travel.

Is it really necessary for this guy to finger fuck this guitar like this? I don't think, I'd want to buy it after this guy has been monkeying around on it.

I just acquired what I believed to be a 1959 Strat neck. No date on neck and the truss rod was never drilled out for the truss rod adjustment nut. But, there is a truss rod inside the neck. There is a pencil mark on the but of the neck to mark the drill position but it was never drilled out. You mentioned the "Kirkwood era" for no dates on the neck. What is this?

Personally id rather play a new instrument, but for a keepsake or investment, this guitar is pristine for the age. What a specimen.

Hi, did the 1960 stratocaster come in sonic blue or would that be a refinish?
