Not fair the reason this artist had to die. Not fair at all. Mounting medical bills, needing surgery he couldn't afford, not insurable because of the accident which left him paralyzed. All these things would lead anyone to become depressed and look for an exit. But I don't think Vic wanted to die. Unfortunately, he believed it was his only answer. His songs are inspiring and gutsy. I sometimes feel guilty for enjoying them so much, knowing now -- what I have come to know about Vic Chestnut. RIP

I must get this album too. Almost all Vic's albums have really different sonic landscapes, Ghetto Bells sounds somehow more dreamy, languid and lingering than other stuff I've heard from him. Great songwriting throughout. He was in such a great creative phase when he died, it makes me really sad to think of it.
