AN EPIC poetic tune by an extremely talented and painfully underrated Lansing Michigan born alternative band. Verve Pipe's front man, Brian Vander Ark, penned this jewel about a road trip taken along Michigan's M-31 which is located along the state's beautiful western coast.

I bought this cd when I was 15 and the lyrics never hit me like they do now. What a well written song.

During my internet chat room days, I met a guy from East Lansing who introduced me to Verve Pipe. This song struck me from the first moment I heard it. I saw the band in 1998, and even got to meet them (and the members of Tonic). Nicest bunch of guys I've ever met. To this day, Veneer is my fav alt rock song ever. This video is amazing. Thank you for sharing it. <3

Less than 3000 views? WTF? Why does crap music do so well and the good stuff goes unnoticed? No hope for the human race!!

Brian is a genius. I listen to this song in Florida, and remember driving US 31. I remember driving down old 31 (now oceana hwy). Brian, my daughter rocked to Photograph, and Freshmen in the square, downtown East Lansing. Her on my shoulders, she and I will never forget how fun it was to see you play. I hope and pray you continue your songwriting, and playing. Bayr

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this song!! I've seen this band live once, a LONG time ago. I promptly bought this CD after. This is one of my favorite songs, one of my favorite albums.

I lived in Michigan when this came out, but had no appreciation for just how good this cd was until a few years later. Brian Vander Ark is this generations best songwriter, hands down.
