One word: Bliss!

In 1993 Slumberland Records compiled and released Velocity Girl's first singles on a single disc and simply titled it "Velocity Girl". The record was to become extremely influential on the American indie scene, that had been more or less overshadowed by the British indie scene throughout the 1980s.

My Forgotten Favorite is one of the highlights of this compilation, originally released as a 7" on Slumberland in 1991. Both editions are long out of print.

First heard this on Mark Goodier's evening session on BBC Radio 1 (UK) back in the day. Still have it on a c90 tape cassette somewhere...well, who didn't tape off the radio back then :-)

I first heard this on WPRB in Princeton, NJ. back in the early nineties and really loved the tune and sultry sound of the female vocalist. It is too bad the instrumental track was recorded too loud because the vocal track is nearly drowned.

I saw these guy live in 1994 if I recall. It was a Bates College in Lewiston Maine. All I remember is my GF at the time was breaking up with me LOL, oh High School was a tough time :)

The opening chords are burnt into my memory. I used to "borrow" the Clueless soundtrack from my older sister a LOT.
