Vandaveer - Pretty Polly - Shaker Steps video free download

Indie folk outfit Vandaveer's songs emanate triumphantly through the beautifully stark songwriting and enigmatic tenor vocals of Mark Charles Heidinger balanced with sensuously deep harmonies from Rose Guerin. Their music can be dark, perhaps coming to fullest fruition yet in their newest album of re-visioned ol' time murder ballads, but their music is not depressing per se. It's real and deep and grounded in the human experiences we all share.

We met up with Vandaveer at The Southgate House Revival in Newport, Kentucky before a show accompanied here by bandmate (and Shaker Steps "regular") J. Tom Hnatow along with special guests and friends The Seedy Seeds on percussion and backup vocals. For their session, we recorded their song "Spite" off their album Dig Down Deep and a hauntingly dark rendition of "Pretty Polly" as heard on their newest album Oh, Willie, Please. It's gonna be a dark night, so cozy up by the fire and enjoy.
