As i understand it is a question of "what if we all where born.. not as ateists but never been told about relegions at all. All of us.. Everywhere in the world."But then again the beauty in a song is that we can relate different to it depending on how we feel at the moment. I am not sure I have been wrong before.

hilarious. the Christians think this song is anti-religion, and the Atheists think it's pro-religion. And they both fucking like it!

NO RELIGIONWe didn't know no better, and they said it could be worsesome people thought it was blessingother people think that it's a curseit's a choice between fact and fictionand the whole world has gone astraythat's why there's no religion, no religion, no religion here todayAnd there's no straight answersof what this thing called love is all aboutsome say it's unconditionalother people just remain in doubtwell i cleaned up my diction, i had nothing left to sayexcept there's no religion, no religion, no religion here todayAnd they ask what hate isit's just the other side of lovesome people want to give their enemieseverything they think that they deservesome say why don't you love your neighboursgo ahead, turn the other cheekbut there's nobody on this planet that can ever be so meekand i can't bleed for youyou have to do it your own wayand there's no religion, no religion, no religion here todayAnd they ask what hate isit's just the other side of lovesome people want to give their enemieseverything they think that they deservesome say why don't you love your neighboursgo ahead, turn the other cheekbut have you ever met anybody who's ever been the meekand it's so cruel to expect the saviour to save the dayand there's no religion, no religion, no religion here todayAnd there's no mystery, and there's nothing hiddenand there's no religion here todayAnd there's no religion, no religion, no religion here todayVan Morrison

i read the text in the sense that he is sorry that there is no religion, no mystery nothing hidden today. There should be more mystery, more religion /in it´s true sense of a guiding map to true love and peace and God. And who wants to live in a world without mystery ? Everything organized by laws and the government and working on a conveyor belt? Sorry folks, not my world, have to leave you behind
