OU812 is the best of the "new" sound that evoled in the VH sound that came along with 1984 album. Good production and mixing as album as a more raw sound than previous Sammy fronted albums.

One of the best Hagar era tunes they did. It still kills me when I listen to the ending of this where Sam is saying "suck it all up, dwn to the last drop". It sounds like Ed is squeezing every freakin' drop out of that axe he can muster, muting the shit out of it down to the last note. Just one of the greatest rock guitar endings ever put to tape/reel!!!!

The classic albums with Dave will always be great and those albums introduced us to that classic sound . Dave is not a good singer he don't sing properly that's why his voice sounds so bad , Sammy has taken care of himself and his voice better than Dave and Sammy sings properly . Sammy is a much better lyricist , and musician with Dave , Sammy really evolved with van halen, it's amazing how superb musicians can really make u much better , they all won as they diversified the bands sound while still rocking hard , the ballads were yes huge selling points but u cannot mistake great grooves like pound cake , black and blue , Amsterdam etc... Sammy since he left van halen has wrote some great overall music solo and with chicken foot. The two van halen fan camps won't ever come together and see eye to eye . Some people believe bands are always supposed to make the same sounding songs using the same chords and drum patterns but that's not logical. Good musicians grow and change and you do change as u get older bc of life's experiences . I loved all the van halen music including with Hagar these are great memories for me . David lee Roth can have his ego . Sammy is a humble and kind and giving person , he isn't like many wealthy people .

Its really a shame that the best known songs from the Van Hagar are the corny ballads, they aren´t bad, but I´ve heard many people stopped listening to them because of that, while this songs, that weren´t as popular, showed us that they could still rock hard

In my humble opinion this song is a hidden gem!! I like both the DLR and Sammy era's equal. I think Sammy era is when VH grew up. Not there was anything wrong with remaining youthful. Just sayin..............
