Most of my friends swear by the Vai/Roth combination, and even though that was an incredible album of extreme skill, I have always been partial to the Vai/Townsend band myself. Devin is just as erratic, unpredictable, and their musical styles are somewhat similar. Both are geniuses and seemingly completely consumed by music.

This album was so ahead of it's time it's ridiculous. People do this kind of thing now and Vai and Townsend were doing it years and years ago. This is why people like them are the standard.
