Todd Rundgren got me tix for his sold-out club date last night. Utopia's Kasim Sulton was on bass; I played upright bass with him in 2010 when he was Paul McCartney for a Beatles show. Everything was cool 'til Todd said, "I'm sending Kasim home tomorrow, since I gave this weekend's gigs to another dude." I'm the dude, so I had to hide when he said, "The new guy is here tonight, if Kasim's fans want to, y'know, give him a beat-down or something."

I have been looking for videos of this Midnight Special performance for a while. I remember watching it when I was 15 and I was amazed at how they could all play different instruments as they swapped up all night --- Todd played drums, keys, bass and guitar during the night, and it made me want to play more than just guitar, so now I'm one of the few guys in town now that play more than 1 instrument, and sing also.
