Nevermind the subtext to this song, the basic facts themselves are wrong. Turkey and Japan were NOT on the side of Germany in World War 1. Turkey didn't even exist yet, and would go on to assist the Allies in World War 2. We also weren't involved in the colonization of Africa, although we did push for its decolonization. Besides that, the song is mostly correct. The slavery and racism of our formative years were wrong of course, but we've atoned for that.  Going to war with north Vietnam and helping out Sadam/Osama obviously turned out to be longterm mistakes, but we were justified in trying to stop the growth of a far greater threat. The only jab he made at America that I still see as entirely valid is the way we have and still do mistreat Native Americans. That's a very real problem; they should make a song entirely about that. And pretty much everything else America did was good despite the way the singer seems to spit out the story like what we did was disgusting. Sorry Mr. Flipsyde, would you rather we have stayed under the control of a monarch, let the Confederacy keep on enslaving black people, or watch as the Fascists take over the world and kill all people of color? This line just confuses me; "The sons of Africa just invented this shit called rap Tellin' my secrets that's why I'm puttin' their heads on flat" On a systemic level, how are we discriminating against black people in this day and age?
