Upp was the debut self-titled album of former English rock/jazz fusion band Upp, and was released in 1975. The album was recorded at Escape Studios, Kent. The opening track "Bad Stuff" showcases charismatic guitar playing by Jeff Beck. Strong affiliation of funk music is felt in the tracks "Get Down in the Dirt", "Friendly Street" and "Give It to You". Jeff Beck produces and plays guitars on this album with no mention of him on the album's liner notes.

I saw UPP ''live'' at the Marquee Club in Wardour St London, back in the 70s. I then went out and bought both LPs

Why am I just finding out about this period in Jeff Beck's career? Where have I been? This is great stuff! Obvious to see the beginnings of where JB was going to take his music, since "Blow by Blow" came not long after.

Lve this post! I stumbled upon the vinyl many years ago and it has been a staple in my collection of the greatest albums ever. I continue to play this over and over and now I can hear it without all of the scratches!

Played this to death in the 70's one of Jeff's great unknown solos, no histrionics just nice and funky - just builds and builds - love the synth guitar jamming. Radio Merseyside nicked a sample for their signature? Enjoy

I have to say, I don't reckon the Average White Band were any funkier than these guys. Thanx for sharing 5/5

I saw Upp a couple of times at the Marquee. They were great! Steven Amazing was...well, amazing, and the guitarist was very cool too. Played through a Watkins Copicat and an AC30 as I remember.
