Some bands only hit the sweet spot with certain songs or albums. Look at Drowning Pool, they have one good song "Bodies" and that's it. Even then, the song isn't great.

Not my favorite death-metal band by far. The majority of they're albums aren't very good. Where no Life Dwells however is excellent. A timeless classic. And this song is they're pinnacle. I can never seem to grow tired of it.

It seems everyone trys to be like Necrophagist now days. There is still some good Death Metal bands, but there are more wannabes. I like the direction Death Metal is going today thought. It seems like only wannabes get attention, but if you look hard enough you will find amazing modern death metal
