Don't get me wrong, they can be one in the same.. but there are also singers who I would not consider musicians in the least bit, while they can "play" their vocal chords, that doesn't make them a musician.

I think this guy is a great singer...it dissappoints me how there's suppose to be a 'certain' way to sing, like american idol says (we have to sing the way they want us to right?)...brendans voice has sent me to new heights, it's so unique and noone else is like him...he give it his all everytime, while shredding (i dont use that term lightly) guitar, you always have to look at musicians as a whole

im a concert nut, and a major fan of live music, and i have to say that Umph puts on one of the best live shows ive ever seen. Not only that, but they are all incredible musicians. one of the cleanest and most hard rocking shows ive been to.

@tylerstrout Trey can actually sing quite well. Admittedly some shows he sounds a bit "stale" saying that Trey can't sing is like saying that mike can't play bass. And until youve played guitar while singing, you shouldnt talk, it's hard to pull off both at the same time. If you watch any of Phish's studio vids you'll see Trey has a great voice.
