Ultravox - Passing Strangers 1980

We were so young, we were too vain

Dance in the dark, sing in the rain

Time on our hands, hope in our hearts

We were talking, passing strangers

Moments caught across an empty room

Wasted whispers, faded secrets

Quickly passes, time goes, time goes by too soon

We stood alone, silent and proud

Moments unknown, lost in a crowd

Running through memories like thieves in the night

Clutching emotions, holding too tight

Hold turns to dust, shattered by light

We were talking, passing strangers

Moments caught across an empty room

Wasted whispers, faded secrets

Quickly passes, time goes, time goes by too soon

(Instrumental)

We were talking, passing strangers

Moments caught across an empty room

Wasted whispers, faded secrets

Quickly passes, time goes, time goes by too soon

We were talking, passing strangers

Moments caught across an empty room

Midge Ure era of Ultravox was very much the New Romantic phase, whereas the John Foxx era was the aftermath of the Punk era.I like to think of the band as two separate entities, both are just as good as each other and both pioneers in their fields.

Gosh, I love Gary's adoration of John Foxx era Ultravox! I do. I love the 70s Ultravox! (I have all the albums); I love John Foxx period, but I'm a bit partial to the Midge era Ultravox. What are YOUR thoughts?
