I think Ultra sample James Brown more than any other group. everyone of there songs are james brown beats. I thought Public Enemy used james the most until i started to listen to ultramanetic again

A man who knows about breaks and beats! Kinda funny to hear kats talking about who used a certain break first, and who copied etc. What peeps need to understand is that back then (the 'Golden Age') many of the samples used came from compilations like the ultimate breaks and beats series. So many of the same samples were used by the artists of the time. Take 'Apache' which Nas used in 'Made you look'. There was a time when hip-hop was dominated by songs using that beat/break. Learn the history!

Maan, Ultramagnetic's album was released about 5-6 years before "california love" and both songs sampled "Woman to woman" by Joe Cocker.

I would loove to hear the ORIGINAL 12-inch version of FUNKY!! That was my shit!! I can't find that anywhere!! Not the remake on the Red Alert album or the remix on Critical Beatdown, but the original!
