Vaughn De Leath ( b.1894- d.1943) Known as "The First Lady of Radio" she was a star of 1920's radio and recording. She invented the "crooning" style of singing, and was a accomplished ukulele player. She made her last record in 1931 and stopped broadcasting soon after that.

Ukulele Lady was published in 1925.
