This is a great cover but it doesn't even come close to Harry Chapin's. RIP Harry, your song touched millions and changed people's lives for the better.

Here's the link to the original version sung by the late, GREAT Harry Chapin. If you truly enjoy this song you'll enjoy it even more when you listen to the original with the correct lyrics. Ugly Kid Joe needs to learn that the father leaves up until his son is old enough to drive then the lyrics become "When are you coming home SON? I don't know when, but we'll get together then".

This is the best version of this song. I reckon Ugly Kid Joe did it better than Harry.

My dad never spends time with me, it makes me feel sad and worthless, It is almost like not having a father figure, I use money to fill his place.

One of the best covers of this song to date. They did the original justice and didn't butcher it like most covers do.

Just caught up with that song on a Radio in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia a few days ago; remember it listening to it back in 1992 in Karachi, Pakistan. Irony my Dad is in Karachi but I am in Kuala Lumpur.
